What gets done here, gets done by my effort and inclination, and that of the other artists that I occasionally work with. Nothing is the result of the "rhythm", or a bunch of people using clever timing in attempt to make it appear like what gets produced here, arises from them, with me being just a puppet. Its here thanks in part to my own timing and momentum, which is inspired by many people.
However, it takes an audience to make anything a spectacle and a social success, but remember, that even if I had no viewership here, I'd still be doing this, and doing my best to make it entertaining and to improve.
I completely support LGBTQ2 rights, but retain my own identity as a heterosexual male. I love women. If that isn't apparent from my writing, then maybe I'm the first male Lesbian ;-)
I've donated plenty of my own money to the charities that I advocate for and try to give them money when I can (which is not as often as I'd like). I've never collected money from the public on their behalf, only to keep that money for myself. I am not a middle man with these charities at all. I don't collect money for them. I speak up for them, and in almost every story posted here, they're present and get exposure.
If 2% of the people who've visited Shhhh! Digital Media each donated 5$ to a charity listed here as a result of their exposure, that would be $33,378.75 in total as of today's total viewership since 2014, when I started advocating. I've been doing this all along, but honestly it takes the goodness of heart of my readers to take it to the next step, and give something.
So, I ask that you don't beat me up as if I'm just leeching from others' good nature, because I'm not. I've paid more than $33,000 in money and my own time (nearly 50 to 60 hours a week) to keep this place going and often without any kind of thanks. Mostly abuse. I don't think I've really profited in a financial sense overall, in keeping this site going, except for the progress towards my goals for this place, and in that sense, its right on track. Shhhh! Digital Media is a business, but a business with a long term investment plan. I'm thinking in decades.
Thank you to Squarespace for their help today. It proved most effective in helping to get some of the problems I was confronted with this week solved.
Thank you to ImprovMX as well for their great service.
